SIFU JERRY WELDON

He started martial arts training and Wu style Tai Chi in 1974 under Sifu Jon Loren. He attained the rank of black sash in 1981. He recived his teaching certification and rank of first degree black sash in 1983. He also studied Yang style Tai Chi under Dr. Gerard Berardi and Sifu Jon Loren, Pakua Chang under Professor Huang, Wen Chi and Chen style Tai Chi under Sifu David Leung. He then founded Battle Ground Martial Arts Center in Battle Ground Washington in 1987, teaching Tum Pai, Tai Chi and pakua. For three years he taught at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Served as president of the Oregon Tai Chi association and for two years headed an advanced study group with Master Chan, Sik Hung. Competition incuded several national championships. Mid-year of 2001 was ranked number one in National Blackbelt Leagues, national standings which entitled him to compete in the world championship where he placed third. After twenty years of running Battle Ground Martial Arts Center, Sifu Jerry decided to turn the school over to his senior student John Hopper. Jerry Weldon has taken his training to a new level and is discovering new depths in his internal training. Sifu Jerry trains regularly with John, and various advanced students still under his instruction. Currently ranked fifth degree backbelt
