About US.

Battle Ground Martial Arts was founded in 1987 by Senior Chief Instructor Sifu Jerry Weldon. After twenty years, Sifu Jerry retired his position at Battle Ground Martial Arts and passed his school on to Sifu John Hopper. Sifu John has been studying martial arts for over ten years and is very dedicated to his students and school. The style of Kung Fu Sifu John teaches is a mixed martial art called Northern Kajukenbo Tum Pai. This style emphasizes a balance of internal and external training. Sifu John teaches a number of classes including self defense, weapons training, Yang style Tai Chi Chuan, and Pakua Chang. Hopper's Martial Arts has a high code of ethics where we teach self discipline, respect, control, and etiquette. This school offers a variety of times for both children and adults who would like to learn self defense, as well as other aspects of martial arts, the value of persisting until goals are reached, physical fitness, and effective martial arts training.
