Hopper’s Martial Arts Center (formally Battle Ground Martial Arts) teaches a wide range of self defense and martial arts to all ages. The style taught here is called Kajukenbo, a reality based martial art that not only gives you the skills needed to protect yourself in any situation, but also important life skills that a student can incorporate in to their day to day life. We also give instruction in weapons training, Tai Chi Chuan, Pakua Chang, kickboxing and physical conditioning. Our school focuses on the development of self respect, respect for others, martial etiquette or Bushido/Wu Teh Code, confidence, and self discipline. Students at our school are taught by very experienced and friendly instructors that not only enjoy teaching, but are passionate about what they do. Sifu John started his martial arts training in 1990 and has been studying under Grand Master Jerry Weldon since 1997. It was under GM Jerry that he earned his instructors certificate, becoming only the second person in over 20 years to ever achieve this rank under his instructor. In 2007 GM Jerry handed his school over to Sifu John and he has been the Chief instructor ever since. He teaches the advanced Kajukenbo Tum Pai, Tai Chi Chuan, and Pakua Chang. Sifu John is a 3rd degree black sash in Northern Kajukenbo Tum Pai and was ranked Grand Champion at the 2010 Lopez Championship.

Sihing Heath started his training under GM Jerry Weldon in 1996. Sihing Heath is a very skilled martial artist with a lot to offer each class that he instructs. He is ranked under Grand Master Jerry Weldon as a Student Black Sash and was ranked 1st place at the 2010 Battle of Champions. |
